About two months ago, my mom told me that she had a surprise for me and handed me a package (like the one pictured to the right). I excitedly opened the package to see what was inside and found a Bart Simpson minifigure. It was cool because I had no idea that LEGO had released The Simpsons minifigures. I knew about The Simpsons House set but I didn’t know that there were plans to release other sets.
Over the next couple of weeks, I looked everywhere for these minifigures. I couldn’t find them anywhere. I started looking online and saw that I could order them. The only problem was that the packages are unmarked and you don’t really know what you’re getting (unless you can feel the character’s head).
Then I realized that there were people selling the complete sets of all 16 minifigures for slightly above what it would have cost to purchase them in stores and I knew exactly what I was getting.
The only drawback to ordering the complete set was that I didn’t get to experience the thrill of opening the packages and not knowing what I was going to get. It was okay though. I was just happy to have the complete set.
The Minifigures
Each figure comes with at least one accessory and some come with two. Also included in each package is a checklist to mark off the minifigures as you collect them.
Here’s the full run-down of all the minifigures in the set.
Homer Simpson
Marge Simpson
Bart Simpson
Lisa Simpson
Maggie Simpson
Grandpa Simpson
Ned Flanders
Chief Wiggum
Ralph Wiggum
Krusty the Clown
Itchy
Scratchy
Nelson
Mr. Burns
Milhouse
Apu
I love these minifigures and have them proudly displayed on a shelf in my office. I even made a little stand for them out of LEGO. I’d say that I enjoyed assembling all the minifigures but my oldest son actually assembled them for me (he couldn’t wait to open them either).
